Brief Overview of Thread Rolling Procedures and Causes of Abnormal Noises
If abnormal sounds occur during the normal operation of a thread rolling machine, the primary cause is likely excessive hydraulic oil temperature. Other possible causes include the return pipe being positioned above the oil level, excessively dirty oil or tank, or an undersized return pipe design. These are generally not major issues. It is recommended to thoroughly clean the hydraulic system and the tank, and replace the oil, which should resolve the problem.
Three Steps for Steel Bar Thread Rolling Operations:
1.Coolant Requirement: The thread rolling machine must use a water-soluble cutting coolant/lubricant.
2.Quality Inspection: The quality of the rolled threads must be verified using a thread profile gauge. The thread profile of the steel bar must match the profile gauge perfectly, and the end diameter must fall within the allowable tolerance specified on the snap gauge. Additionally, the number of complete straight threads rolled by the machine must not be less than the specified minimum value.
3.Protection and Connection: Qualified straight threads on the steel bars should be immediately fitted with plastic protective caps on one end. On the other end, a connecting sleeve must be tightened using a torque wrench to the specified torque value.
